The Human Systems Division strengthens Singapore’s defence by developing capabilities in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear defence, human factor engineering, and behavioural science. We protect against chemical and biological warfare and enhance the safety and performance of the Singapore Armed Forces.

We house Singapore’s only internationally-accredited laboratories that specialise in detecting and handling chemical, biological, and nuclear agents. Our state-of-the-art high containment facilities allow us to create the capabilities needed to create solutions for high-risk chemical agents and toxins, highly pathogenic biological agents, and radioactive and nuclear materials.
